Manhattan High School activities set for Tuesday evening are cancelled because of a severe weather threat.
Manhattan-Ogden school district officials announced Tuesday around 2 p.m. that most after-school activities and events at MHS are cancelled due to an approaching severe thunderstorm. As of Tuesday at 3 p.m., the MHS Band awards concert is still set to take place at 7 p.m. at MHS-West Campus.
Students at MHS are being dismissed as normal Tuesday afternoon, while elementary school students' dismissals may be delayed to avoid encountering the storm.
District officials made posts to USD 383 social media accounts indicating their awareness of the severe weather threat, which materialized Tuesday morning in north-central Kansas and spread eastward to cover much of the state by 3 p.m. Tuesday.
