INCIDENTS
Police responded to aggravated domestic battery, rape and criminal restraint at about 9:15 a.m. A 27-year-old woman reported a 28-year-old man she knows as the offender. The Mercury does not name victims of rape and sexual assault, and county police are not releasing information about the person of interest at this time.
Officers responded to burglary and criminal damage to property at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Vattier Street. A 21-year-old woman and 24-year-old woman reported finding a naked man inside their apartment, who damaged items. Upon arrival, police found Devon Griffith, 33, of Utah, as the man inside. Law enforcement arrested Griffith on charges of burglary and criminal damage to property. He’s held at Riley County Jail on $7,000 bond.
Police arrested Nicholas Chavez, 21, of Manhattan, at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday at Riley County Jail on a Riley County District Court warrant for interference with law enforcement and battery on an officer. This warrant stems from a July 29 incident, where Chavez reportedly kicked two officers and resisted when they attempted to detain him. Chavez is he

Officers reported theft at about 7 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of Moro Street when a 26-year-old man said to police someone stole his orange Wilderness Systems kayak. The loss is about $700.
Police arrested Aaron Flower, 41, of Manhattan, at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday while already held at Riley County jail. Flower battered three corrections officers and broke a window in the jail for a loss of about $2,000. Law enforcement arrested him for criminal damage to property and three counts of battery on law enforcement. He’s held at jail on $25,000 bond.
Officers arrested Charla Albright, 43, of 416 S Fourth St., at about 12:45 p.m. Thursday on a Pottawatomie County District Court warrant for failure to appear. Officers released Albright on $5,000 bond.
