INCIDENTS
Police reported theft at about 11:30 a.m. Monday in
the 100 block of Bluemont Avenue when a 20-year-old woman stole about $570 worth of merchandise while employed at Walmart.
Officers arrested Austin Swafford, 39, of Manhattan, at about 12:45 p.m. Monday on a Riley County District Court warrant for violating probation. This warrant stems from original charges of identity theft and theft. Swafford is held at Riley County Jail on $7,500 bond.
Police reported theft by deception at about 3 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of South Dartmouth Drive. A 58-year-old woman said someone scammed into sending money to a person she met online for a loss of about $120,000.
