A 21-year-old man was pronounced dead after being shot in the 1400 block of Vista Lane around 7:45 p.m. Saturday, according to the Riley County Police Department.
Police say they found Felix K. Florez, Manhattan, with life-threatening injuries. He was initially transported to Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan before being transferred to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, where he later died.
Officers arrested Gregoria Baez, 21, Manhattan, in connection to the shooting on a charge of involuntary manslaughter. Baez is confined at the Riley County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing. Police did not provide further information about the incident but said they don't believe there is a threat to the public.
